This string of created wetlands along the river has a value that can not be over stated. It is a focal point for bird watchers who travel distances to get here and a great facility for local people to enjoy.
Some birds are resident and others come from far and wide, staying a season or using it as a stop-off on their way somewhere else. For all of us, it can be a life-saver.
