Mile 4 Malham Village 633'

Mile 4 Malham Village is familiar to me because I’ve visited it or passed through many times in a life living in Airedale. The point of working my way along the River Aire mile by mile from the headwaters to its mouth is to learn about the river.

While listening to Yan Wang Preston talking at Bingley Camera Club about her journey photographing the Yangtze River, realised to my horror that I did not know where the River Aire goes. I’m Chair of the Aire Rivers Trust and I really should know stuff like that. This journey and these photographs are an attempt to put that right. So off we go!
