Mile 5 Hanlith Hall 580'

To find Mile Points, I use
the Ordnance Survey Map App
to measure one mile along the centre line of the River Aire. I mark the point on a paper map and then work out how to get there. I have already had to accept walking past one major place of interest that was half-way along a measured mileHanlith Hall however, sits in all its magnificence twenty seconds walk from Mile Point 5. My rules are a little bit more flexible than I aimed for at first and each variance to the idea that a photo is OF or FROM a mile point, involves a chat with myself and finding some justification. The Hall was built in 1668.

There is a monthly (or so) blog here https://aireriverstrust.org.uk/aire-miles/ for a bit more information about at least one of the points of interest I’ve had to leave outI’m such a cheat!
