Mile 19 Cononley Ings 294’

From Cononley Station you can walk onto Cononley Ings and find Mile 19. Ings are flood meadows but Cononley’s are now what’s called a Controlled Washland where dikes protect the fields from flooding but sluices in the wall let water back in. Bit sad really: lowland wetlands are a priority habitat and we need more of them. Anyway, I found signs of life.
