Aire Mile 45 Kirkstall Forge 120'
I took this photo in the spring when I took an initial test walk for the idea of Aire Miles. With a fellow Aire Rivers Trust trustee Kevin, we’d caught the Number 60 bus from Bingley and then walked from Newlay on the old bridleway and along the main road.
At the railway station we used the footbridge to cross over the rails and the Aire to join the canal towpath and thus towards Leeds. In this narrow valley, ancient and modern travel routes run side by side and we used them all.
