Aire Mile 47 City Golf Leeds 97’

 

I got permission to access this Aire Mile through the golf course and arranged to meet Emily from Yorkshire Water’s River Health Team there. The team has resourced The Aire Rivers Trust to locate and map pipes that feed water into the River Aire. Some are relatively benign and feed rainwater in while others somehow carry other substances: all logged so that tracing can begin.

Emily and I both arrived just as the clouds burst for the first wet weather in several months. It was torrential. The golf course staff asked Really? and lent us brollies. When we found a way to the river, I took photographs while Emily pulled a windscreen cover out of the water.
