Aire Mile 59 Allerton Bywater 40’

A hop and a skip takes me along the River Aire’s flood wall footpath through a delightful but lesser known wetland mosaic and past this former mining village. I have a feeling that this footpath and I are going to become best mates over the coming miles.

The significant drop since the last Aire Mile is due to the massive weir at
Lemonroyd.
