Aire Mile 61 Castleford 31’

The hinterland between another large weir and the lock by-pass offers the base of a former factory site and a closed bridge. The barrier onto the bridge has been vandalised so access is possible and this photo shows the steel piled river banks and some of the dereliction as I looked downstream.

Really there is so much to see around the river, it’s worth a day out with a visit to Fairburn Ings RSPB thrown in.
