Aire Mile 62 Fairburn Ings 27’

From Castleford following the river bank towards RSPB Fairburn Ings, my path took me under a now disused railway bridge that crosses the River Aire. The line looks to have served the coal mines and would have taken coal trucks into Castleford. The walking route under the bridge is lined with wooden boards and appears to be inspected weekly.
