Aire Mile 63 Fairburn Ings RSPB cafe 38’
Aire Mile 63 Fairburn Ings RSPB Visitor Centre 38’
I’ve gone up in the world! Here is a spot height of 38’ and I thought I’d show you my navigation tools.
I also have the OS App on my
phone so I know where I am in relation to the orange mile marks.
Having an ap
p felt like cheating at first because there’s a little
orienteer lurking in my head but actually, a bit of tec is really
helpful. It means I’m looking for the shot rather than wondering
where I am. The whole nav. kit fits in one pocket.
When I'd drunk my coffee,I walked into the wetlands. The area used to be a wet meadow around another long-gone meander. Then after more river straightening, this was coal pit and then more recently allowed to flood for a nature reserve. Not much bird life around at this time of year but sand martins should move in in the spring.
