Aire Mile 68 Knottingley 27’

I planned to drive to Ferrybridge and catch a bus then walk back to my car so as to have a linear walk rather than the previous out and back stamina test. I rarely use buses and so this was quite exciting and took some fairly meticulous and anxious planning.

From Ferrybridge I caught the 476 bus to Beal and found the river. I walked the flood wall upstream back to the car so photographed Aire Miles in reverse order but here they are in order as you go with the flow.

Ferrybridge is where the river ceases to be the Aire Calder Navigation and is once again a simple old river looping across a huge plain between those flood walls.
